Where nature enriches people and people enrich nature
We create places where habitats thrive and the natural environment plays a central role in everyday life. Communities benefit from high levels of access to, and engagement with, green and blue spaces that support health, well-being and connection. Natural resources are carefully managed to deliver benefits for society today while safeguarding them for future generations.
We work in partnership with local communities and collaborators, taking a long‑term, collaborative approach, where the focus is on strengthening nature, deepening connection, and creating places where both people and the environment can thrive.

Our nature-rich plan
Our nature‑rich plan marks a renewed commitment: to create an estate where biodiversity thrives, water and air are clean, soils are healthy, and people benefit from nature without depleting it. Guided by national policy and shaped through collaboration with government as part of Defra’s National Estate for Nature group, the Duchy is re‑committing to playing its part in restoring nature at scale and for the long term.
