- The Duchy of Cornwall, St Petrocs and Homewards have collaborated to deliver 24 high-quality homes for people experiencing homelessness.
- Residents will receive comprehensive wrap around care as well as training and employment opportunities via St Petrocs.
- The building is expected to welcome its first residents in July.
The Duchy of Cornwall is pleased to share that its first project to tackle homelessness is in the final stages and hopes to welcome residents in July 2026.
Delivered in partnership with St Petrocs and The Royal Foundation's Homewards programme, the scheme will provide 24 high quality homes for people experiencing homelessness, supported by St Petrocs through comprehensive wrap around care and day to day management to help residents rebuild stability and independence.
Residents will also be able to build community connections through training and employment with neighbouring community hub, Newquay Orchard.
The Duchy has contributed land, development expertise, and connections to charitable funding, including £3 million committed by The Duke of Cornwall Charitable Foundation. All homes are being built to exacting low‑carbon standards, helping reduce both environmental impact and long‑term running costs.
Announced in April 2024, the collaboration underscores the Duchy’s long-term commitment to creating resilient and sustainable communities.
The project also aligns with Prince William and The Royal Foundation’s Homewards programme, demonstrating how innovative housing solutions can support people experiencing homelessness and inspire similar initiatives elsewhere in the UK.
