South East FavershamSouth East Faversham
Our proposed neighbourhood of South East Faversham if agreed will include:
• The delivery of up to 2,500 homes, including a policy-compliant provision of affordable housing (on current forecasts, this would deliver over 890 affordable homes in total), with a focus on 2-3 bedroom homes and options for key workers, private renting and later living.
• Phase 1 construction targeted to start next year: 261 new homes, including 35% affordable housing (of which 50% will be secured as social rent), alongside the first local centre and early walking, cycling and green space infrastructure.
• New infrastructure, including a primary school, health provision, local centres and contributions to secondary education.
• Renewable energy, electric vehicle charging and an on-site water recycling strategy.
• At least 20% biodiversity net gain and around 50% dedicated to green spaces, including parks, meadows, allotments and sports provision.
• Transport improvements, including measures around Brenley Corner, provision towards bus services and new walking/cycling connections.
• New employment: significant employment opportunities for local residents from construction and dedicated new employment spaces, including cafes, restaurants and flexible office space.
• Local architecture: Designed to complement existing Faversham architecture. Using local builders, suppliers and materials.
A planning application was submitted to Swale Borough Council in 2024 and it will be determined by the Council’s Planning Committee in 2025.
