Truro Eastern District Centre

The Truro Eastern District Centre (TEDC) is a partnership development from Cornwall Council, The Taste of Cornwall and Waitrose on Duchy of Cornwall land to the east of Truro city centre.

It aims to meet a number of local needs by providing an integrated and innovative development comprising:

  • The second phase of Truro's park and ride scheme with 1,200 spaces
  • A Cornish Food Centre comprising The Taste of Cornwall and Waitrose under one roof
  • Around 90 new homes (including 35% aff ordable) with allotment gardens to encourage self-sufficiency
  • A household waste recycling centre
  • Educational opportunities including a demonstration kitchen and garden

This combination of uses would achieve many things. It would help tackle local congestion and reduce carbon dioxide emissions, provide much needed affordable housing, promote the best of Cornish produce and create a quality 'gateway' to the east of the city, as well as benefits for the wider community.
